It's not every day that I get to have lunch with a celebrity, even a local celebrity. But today (3-20), I did just that, meeting with and interviewing Jody Gnant, a talented local musician who's become something of a phenomenon as a life casting star who does her level best to live online and on camera 24/7. Of course, as I learned, there are some limits on life casting, such as leaving camera range to use the ladies' room. But, to my surprise, Jody Gnant told me that, yes, she does have the camera on while she's sleeping, and it sometimes captures her talking in her sleep. In the interview, Jody said that she'd begun life casting about 8 months ago. As we talked, I pondered the annihilation of privacy that life casting creates, and wondered how she did it, glancing occasionally at her camera equipped laptop as we ate our lunches and chatted. One thing Jody Gnant did confide is that being continually on camera has had an impact on her social life. Still, she seemed cheerful and friendly as we talked.
