lifecasting, jody gnant
Life Casting or Life Streaming, as we all know, is that recent phenomenon that has been making waves on the Internet by allowing people like Chris Pirillo and Jody Gnant to broadcast their daily lives in real time all across the Internet, along with a lot of less interesting, less talented people. But now, the big news in the life streaming world is that Internet giant Yahoo has launched Yahoo Live, in a bid to corner some of the Internet's valuable lifecasting real estate. Initially, there were a few hiccups, with interrupted service, but now Yahoo Live seems to be motoring along quite nicely. Yahoo's entry into lifecasting boasts a good-looking, easy to use interface, but it's so new that no real stars like Jody Gnant or Chris Pirillo have yet emerged from the ranks of Yahoo's lifecasting personalities. Yahoo Live requires Flash 9 software to operate and the features it offers are not too different from the ones offered on services like Ustream or Mogulus, but it's obvious that Yahoo is trying to maintain its position as an innovator in web services.
